Ashley Machine & Tool Company was founded in 1945 and quickly established itself as a quality Tool and Die Machine Shop. By 1950, Ashley was serving such customers as the U.S. Navy Department and the American Chain and Cable Company.
1960s – Ashley became a prime supplier for Grumman Aerospace, supplying parts for A-6, EA-6B, EF111 and the Lunar Modules.
1977 – Ashley added Boeing Military Airplane Company producing parts for the 737-200.
1978 – Ashley added Sikorsky Aircraft and began producing parts for the Black Hawk and CH-53E helicopter.
1979 – Kaman Aerospace was added to the customer list and Ashley began producing parts for F-14 and in 1981 the B-1 Bomber.
1980s – Ashley concentrated on commercial aircraft programs including 737 and 767.
1992 – Ashley started manufacturing parts for the C-17 Cargo plane for Kaman Aerospace.
From 1995 – 2003 Ashley manufactured long structured parts for tail section of 737 Next Generation airplanes.
1996 – Ashley began manufacturing section cap strips for Northrop Grumman E2C. These programs greatly developed Ashley’s forming capabilities.
1997 – Ashley began manufacturing stringers for Cessna “Citation 10” aircraft.
2003 – Ashley began producing 777 work.
2006 – Ashley began producing 787 work.
2008 – Ashley became certified to AS9100 Quality Standard.
2013 – Ashley began producing stringers for Boeing 767 Refueling Tanker
2017 – Ashley Machine and Tool purchased by Mulhern family.
2017 – Ashley began producing keel chords for 777, 777X for Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru).
2020 – Ashley awarded keel chord 787 program for Fuji Heavy Industries
Currently, Ashley Machine & Tool’s prime customers are Daher Aerospace, Kaman Aerospace, Northrop Grumman, GKN Aerospace, CPI Aerospace, and Goodrich Aerospace.
Ashley has over 50,000 square feet of production facility with 43 employees.
Product orders of any size can be developed, manufactured, and delivered to customers’ specifications. This capability, as well as the quality and pride in workmanship throughout the company, is the mainstay of Ashley Machine & Tool Company.
